User Acceptance Testing Manager

Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a contract User Acceptance Testing Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for performing advanced Test Manager work as a member of IT Project Management Office.

Major duties

• Perform advanced test manager duties as a member of the IT PMO.
• Lead analysis and testing activities across all phases of the system development life cycle.
• Diagnose and resolve software issues and troubleshoot system problems for internal and external clients.
• Define and review the UAT strategy for the agency’s UAT scope, including guidance on UCFs, resources, and SME alignment.
• Coordinate each UCF with business SMEs and review vendor-provided UAT test cases.
• Work with business users and SMEs to create, update, and execute test cases.
• Serve as the main point of contact between IT, business users, and the development team.
• Lead defect triage, tracking, prioritization, and management.
• Provide and review UAT progress updates, results, defect status, and requirement traceability coverage.
• Ensure exit criteria are met and obtain final business sign-off.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations.

What are we looking for?

• Creating and executing system test plans.
• Performing performance testing and using performance monitoring tools such as JProfiler and JMeter.
• Using test tools such as JUnit, Selenium, and Micro Focus UFT.
• Using unit testing tools and frameworks such as JUnit and Selenium.
• Working across the full software development life cycle with a strong focus on testing.
• Managing, performing, monitoring, and reporting on test activities.
• Overseeing UAT, performance, accessibility, interface, and data conversion testing.
• Reviewing, updating, and creating test strategies, suites, and scripts.
• Documenting and reporting test results, PIRs, and defect status.
• Coordinating test staff schedules, test activities, and meetings.
• Training and mentoring testing team members.

• 5 years of experience with DB2 and MS SQL Server queries.
• 5 years of experience using ALM Octane.
• 5 years of experience with Jenkins, CVS, Maven, and Ant.
• 4 years of experience managing UI testing with commercial software such as Sagitec’s Neosurance.
• 1 year of State of Texas experience.
