Supervisory Police Officer (Special Operations)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Police Officer (Special Operations) located at Fort Irwin, CA


  • Safeguard Federal property, sensitive materials or processes, military members, family members, civilian employees and visitors.
  • Analyzes work requirements and determines staff resources, equipment and other sources needed to accomplish the mission.
  • Point of contact for all law enforcement training matters.
  • Provides advice and assistance to all levels of management concerning training needs/goals and sources for training support.
  • Oversees and executes the police services operations budget and department fleet/logistics program.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Planning law enforcement training programs to support employee development; (2) Conducting law enforcement investigations into violations of federal and state laws; and (3) Enforcing traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure installation security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). NOTE: This Installation does not have the intervening grade at the GS-10 level. Time in Grade will be considered at the GS-09 and GS-10 levels of experience. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
