Physician Office Scheduler RN


Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Located onsite at Memorial Health Heart Care (potential of a hybrid position in the coming months)


Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Professional to provide direct patient care and administrative support within a dynamic physician's office. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for expertly triaging and scheduling patient appointments, meticulously verifying insurance details.

Duties (included but are not limited to):

  • Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Provide professional nursing care to clinic patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage related communications with precision and care.
  • Verify insurance and patient demographics, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Route calls and communicate with the appropriate department or physician offices, facilitating efficient communication.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality, adhering to the highest ethical standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
  • Work closely with physician office staff to ensure pre-cert/authorization numbers are entered, streamlining administrative processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Strong customer orientation, with a focus on providing excellent patient experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Proficient PC skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of accepted nursing standards and practices, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Solid knowledge of basic pharmacology, facilitating safe and effective medication administration.
  • Demonstrated skill in providing patient care in accordance with facility standards, ensuring patient well-being.

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required

Experience:

  • 1 year of nurse triage experience highly preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience as a registered nurse working in direct patient care

 Certificate/License:

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of GA or Compact License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
