Job Summary:


Medical City Children’s is seeking a certified acute care pediatric nurse practitioner or certified acute care and primary care pediatric nurse practitioner.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Certified Acute Care and Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Texas license or ability to obtain one
  • Prefer dual certification for both primary and acute care pediatric nurse practitioner to function independently in a high acuity, fast paced pediatric cardiac intensive care unit caring for patients with congenital heart disease including both pre-surgical and post-surgical patients, acquired heart disease, and post-surgical adult congenital heart disease
  • Required basic life support (BLS) certified
  • Required pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certified
  • Preferred adult cardiac life support (ACLS) certified
  • Cardiac experience preferred, but not required

About Medical City Children’s Hospital and Medical City Heart Hospital:
  • 225 bed pediatric hospital with the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in North Texas
  • 108-bed Level IV NICU, regionalized care model with 9 Medical City Healthcare affiliated NICUs
  • Medical City Children’s Congenital Heart Center consists of 2 dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms, 2 cardiac catheterization labs, 1 hybrid suite, a 25-bed dedicated CICU/Stepdown Unit with 24/7 attending/NP coverage, ICAEL-certified Echo Lab, cMRI and collaborative 3D printing programs 
  • Two congenital heart surgeons with neonates/infants comprising 70-80% of surgical volume
  • The Medical City Children’s Maternal Fetal Institute (MFI) is the only center in North Texas providing the full spectrum of both fetal and neonatal surgical and non-surgical interventions
