Job Summary and Qualifications

The Special Projects Director is responsible for organization, project management, and monitoring of the successful development and implementation of projects as assigned. This Director will have day-to-day oversight of key special projects as well as providing status updates that will coordinate with multiple teams within Parallon and HCA. The position requires solid leadership, trust building, team building, as well as strong communication and change management skills to influence and lead other Parallon and HCA departments, business partners, facility leadership, and outside business customers in order to the ensure success of all organizational initiatives. The candidate must be a highly organized and results-oriented individual with a demonstrated strong commitment and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.

Supervisor: COO, SSC and Strategic Operations

Duties (included but are not limited to):

  • Maintains strategic and tactical working relationships with various corporate departments, SSCs, ITS & HCA stakeholders.
  • Provides support to the Parallon Revenue Cycle Team.
  • Provides tactical and strategic oversight to the teams that are developing and implementing projects as assigned.
  • Proactively assures that Parallon standards, policies & procedures are followed.
  • Proactively manages the deliverables and change management processes for assigned programs and projects.
  • Provide management, either directly or indirectly, of others to assure quality of work and integration of team members’ work.
  • Facilitate decision-making that is required for progress on projects and programs.
  • Assure quality assurance and ensure projects and programs meet all audit expectations.
  • Be actively involved in business case development for projects/programs within Parallon as necessary.

 Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required. Degree requirement may be substituted by current enrollment in a Bachelor Degree program or equivalent work experience with CEO approval
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare management experience and Parallon/HCA operations experience required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in managing multiple projects and programs to successful completion across multiple hospitals, business offices, or health systems, preferably in healthcare revenue cycle preferred
  • Experience leading large projects or programs preferred
  • HCA/Parallon systems knowledge a plus.
  • Hospital operations, financial services, or IT experience a plus.

 Certificate/License:

  • LEAN certification is preferred, but not required
